For more than two decades, Neil Cohen has dedicated his life to transforming moments into unforgettable works of art. Based in West Palm Beach, Florida, Neil is a professional wedding, lifestyle, and event photographer known for his dramatic style, expert lighting, and bold use of color. His work blends technical mastery with a deep understanding of human connection resulting in images that feel alive, intentional, and emotionally rich.
Neil’s journey began in high school, when his family moved to Key West and his father opened a photo lab. What started as an after‑school job quickly became a calling. By his senior year, Neil was taking his first photography class and photographing his first wedding at just 17. He went on to earn his Associate Degree in Photography from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 2001.
While studying, Neil worked at a small portrait studio in Weston, Florida, before being offered the opportunity to run the photography department for a company in Boca Raton. Immersed in the fast‑paced world of events, he refined his skills in lighting, posing, and composition while photographing weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, family portraits, and corporate events. It was here that Neil discovered his natural talent for working with people and gained a deep understanding of both the creative and business sides of the industry.
In 2006, Neil launched Neil Cohen Photography, originally based in Palm Springs, Florida, before relocating to West Palm Beach. His artistic career expanded further in 2011 with his first solo gallery show, Passions Collide, a dance photography series set in weathered, abandoned locations across Florida. This led to a three‑year role as staff photographer for a local dance magazine and four additional solo exhibitions.
Neil’s creative approach is defined by his willingness to push boundaries. He incorporates elements such as rain, sparks, light painting, smoke, powder, and underwater techniques to elevate his work and create images that stand apart. His philosophy is simple: every session deserves his full passion and attention. Every image should stand out. Every viewer should feel the wow.
